Back in 2015, our Talking Elephants Initiative, a place to meet others who have also recently been bereaved, started up with just 5 people attending. Three years on, it is still going strong, with now around 21 people attending (2 of whom have been attending regularly since the beginning).
Each session takes place on the first Wednesday of the month between 11.30am and 1.30pm at Lucas Gardens, Barton Hills, Luton LU3 4BG.
We’d love to see more people there who could use a friendly face and some support.
We’re hoping to expand this programme to another area of Luton soon and we’ll keep you updated with progress – watch this space!
Good afternoon. Could you please advise me where and when the talking elephants group meets in Stopsley.
I lost my husband in October and am gradually picking up the pieces. I feel that once Christmas is over (and any possible further restrictions) I would like to start thinking forward and start meeting other people.
Hi Joyce – thank you for your message and please accept our condolences for your loss. Our Stopsley Talking Elephants group meets at St Anne’s Church, Crawley Green Road, Luton, LU2 0QN every third Thursday in the month from 10am to 11:30am. The next group will be the 20th January.
Many thanks Kelly, I hope to attend the meeting on the 20th. Do you still enter at the back, via the car park?
Will have to try and arrange transport. I rely on others nowadays unfortunately.

Many thanks Kelly. My apologies for late reply. I will try and make the meeting. Will have to arrange transport if I can.
Hello again Kelly, I have managed to arrange a lift for the meeting on the20th and hope to join the group.
I know the hall has to be paid for, I have used it before, so I assume there will be subs to pay. Could you please let me know something about the group. Many thanks, Joyce
Good morning Joyce – I’ve passed your contact details on to the team who manage the Talking Elephants, asking them to contact you directly, as I don’t have the information to hand.
Many thanks.
Kelly.
