Neville Funerals Presents Cheque to Autism Bedfordshire

Neville Funerals, has been raising funds for our chosen charity of 2019, Autism Bedfordshire, an independent charity dedicated to improving the lives of children, young people and adults with autism and their families.

On Thursday 12th March, Neville Funerals’ Director Charmian Alexander, presented Autism Bedfordshire’s Corporate and Community Fundraiser Sarah Grimes with a cheque for £1,673.43 at our Leagrave, Luton branch.

Autism Bedfordshire has been running for more than 25 years, the organisation provides a range of services including: social activity and skills groups supported by specialist staff; a helpline service; training courses for parents and carers; and autism awareness training for professionals.

Neville Funerals raised the money through a number of initiatives, from the Autism Awareness ‘Silly Sock Day’ and Easter ‘Guess the Eggs’ competition to the sales of Neville Joinery Christmas rees and Remembrance Baubles at Christmas. As well as hosting raffles and bake sales.

Charmian Alexander said: “We are extremely proud of all the team at Neville Funerals on their ongoing commitment to supporting Autism Bedfordshire. We have held a variety of fundraising events over the year, and everyone has got involved. It’s a pleasure to hand over this cheque to a brilliant cause in the local community.”

Sarah Grimes, Autism Bedfordshire’s Corporate and Community Fundraiser said: “We have thoroughly enjoyed being partners with the Neville Group of Companies over the past year.  Almost a third of the individuals and families that we support are from Luton and the surrounding areas.  This means that the funds they have raised will go directly into helping people in the immediate community and throughout the county of Bedfordshire. This is one of the many reasons why it is so valuable for local businesses to choose local charities to support.

“It’s been great working with Neville employees. They’ve worked hard to raise these funds and we really appreciate their kindness and generosity. The funds they have raised will be used to pay for some of the resources and activities we are planning for our Children’s Summer Activity Scheme. We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who was involved in making this happen.”

Neville Funerals maintains strong links to its local communities and often raises money for its charities and sponsors grassroots events, festivals and fayres throughout the year.
